The improving economy has companies searching for opportunities abroad. And the need to travel to do so will create job opportunities at a travel agency in central Ohio.

New Albany-based TS24 plans to hire between 60 and 70 people this year, said CEO Tammy Krings.
“We’re looking for multi-lingual people who have traveled abroad and are well-educated in the travel industry, and they’re difficult to find,” Krings said.

TS24 recently signed a five-year deal to handle travel arrangements for Oregon-based Nike to 48 countries.

“And we have eight more new clients we just started with,” Krings said, adding that confidentiality agreements prevent her from disclosing the names of the companies or giving specifics about where they’re flying.

“You can learn a lot about a company and what they’re doing by studying their travel patterns,” she said of the need for confidentiality.

However, generally speaking, Krings said her clients are seeing signs that the economy is improving, and they want to participate in and reap the rewards of globalization.

“Our customers are exploring or have already gone through the exploration process and made the decision to conduct business outside the United States,” she said.
