





The International Awards Ceremony is the Council’s premier annual event recognizing outstanding
contributions to global education and understanding in our community. More than 600 business,
civic and academic leaders join the Council in honoring an International Company/Organization and
International Educator of the Year.
Past Company/Organization honorees include Honda, CAS, Cardinal Health, Battelle, Nationwide,
The Ohio State University, American Electric Power and Limited Brands, the 2011 recipient for its
contributions to our global community. Past Educator honorees include Lee Link
( Eastland-Fairfield Career and Technical Schools), Kyle Tong (Columbus Academy), Natalie Mroz
(Bexley MS), Robin Hren (Mount Vernon HS), Bobbie Mucha (Westerville South HS), Steve Shapiro
(The Christopher Program), Timothy Dove (McCord MS), Shelley Charity (The Christopher Program)
Tricia Fellinger-Reyes (Upper Arlington HS) and the 2011 recipient, Todd Adam Decker-Kaplonski
of Mifflin High School. The Ceremony also highlights a community group, featuring an element of
live entertainment. Past featured groups include the Jazz Arts Group, Ballet Met, Columbus Zoo &
Aquarium, the Columbus Symphony Orchestra and Thiossane West African Dance Institute. The
2012 Ceremony will be held on March 15, 2012 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center.

The Ceremony is the Council’s highest profile event, serving as the primary fundraiser and
“friendraiser”, with more than 80% of funds going directly to support educational programs for
