CCWA reaches out to area summer camp directors, offering to design and infuse cultural elements into their respectively-designated thematic programs. The unique program format is conceived as a method to illustrate how everything has a global link — from bike riding to forensic science. Read more

Global Issues Retreat


Weekend retreat in Hocking Hills that brings together local and exchange high school youth for fellowship, learning and fun. Students engage in global discussions and activities while discovering multicultural ties and friendships. Read more

Youth Forums


Lecture, debate, discussion, and role-playing activities which help Central Ohio high school youth understand issues of international importance. Participation in these school-day formats is arranged through teachers. Content is aligned with academic content standards. Read more

Council Fellows


The Council’s youth leadership development program engages a select group of high school students in service learning projects. The group selects topics that are universally-relevant but locally actionable through legislative, community education, and direct service activities. Read more

International Educator of the Year


Each year, the Council recognizes a K-12 educator who not only globalizes the minds of students within the classroom, but also works to build global literacy in the school and the community. Read more

Other Initiatives


Innovative outreach programs including the Somali journalism project, student art exhibitions, culture camps and global scholar leadership development. Students are immersed in special opportunity activities to deepen their global understanding. Read more
