Advisory Committees & Networks

The Columbus Council on World Affairs convenes our community’s leaders in active global dialogue.
The program advisory committees and networks provide a forum for ongoing discussion, helping
shape outreach content and creating critical community partnerships.

Education Advisory Committee

The Council collaborated with the Office of International Affairs at The Ohio State University in 2004
to form an Education Advisory Committee (EAC). This committee is comprised of professionals in the
field of education representing local schools, community groups and government. The EAC advises
the Council and OSU on current and future programming to ensure quality of content and diversity of
participating schools and students. For more information, contact Stephanie Calondis Geiger, Director
of Youth Programs, via email or at 614 229 4599 X 403.

Marketing & Communications Committee

responsible for shaping the organization's communication platform, ensuring quality of message and
delivery to the greater community via our various Web, social media, email, direct mail and press
initiatives. For more information, contact Shannon McAfee, Director of Public Programs, via email or

We must know the world and bring understanding and sympathy to global issues if we expect to function effectively as citizens of this world. This is the challenge the Columbus Council on World Affairs faces today; a challenge the Columbus Council on World Affairs is helping us meet successfully.
