2018 International Awards Ceremony

The Columbus Council on World Affairs (CCWA) is proud to announce that the 2018 International Organization of the Year Award will be presented to Columbus2020 for helping build Columbus into America’s First Globally Fluent Region. Highlights of the collaboration with CCWA include launching the bi-annual Global Report in 2012 and Global Fluency Training in 2015 which is now scaling nationally. Brookings Institution recognized this work as a model for aspiring metros. (Brookings 4/4/17). 

The ceremony brings together more than 600 business and civic leaders from 50 institutions on Thursday, May 3, 2018, from 12noon to 1 p.m. (11:30 a.m. registration) at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Columbus. Past recipients of the award include the region’s most dynamic players such as Cardinal Health, LBrands, Battelle, Honda, Nationwide, AEP, and more. The Council will also recognize more than 100 Global Scholars Diploma graduates from area high schools-prepare to be inspired!

Corrine M. Burger

Corrine Burger is a managing director in the retail division of JPMorgan Chase & Co., and serves as the Chief Control Officer, where she is responsible for overseeing operational risk for the firm’s consumer businesses.  Corrine also serves as the Columbus Strategic Hub Location Leader and represents the 19,000+ employees in Central Ohio. For the past 15 years, Corrine has held senior roles in the consumer businesses, including the Controller for the retail division of JPMorgan Chase for nine years through many mergers. Early in her career, Corrine served as an Audit Manager with Deloitte in their Phoenix, AZ office as a Certified Public Accountant. She is a graduate of The Ohio State University. Corrine is currently a member of the Columbus 2020 Board of Directors and serves on the Columbus State Community College Board. Corrine lives in Dublin, Ohio with her husband and has four children.
