‘Cries for Climate,’ a Take Action Project by Abby Kay Griffith, takes root at Marysville High School.

Marysville High School senior Abby Kay Griffith took home one of the two scholarships we award to outstanding Global Scholars Students for their exemplary work and conduct during the program.

Her project, entitled ‘Cries for Climate,’ focused on education and advocacy on environmental issues. She created a podcast and instagram page to inform her audience on climate issues, and restarted the Marysville High School environmental club to develop new ways for the school to become more environmentally friendly. Plans are in place to build a monarch butterfly habitat next year.

Abby was one of close to 200 graduates of the Global Scholars Diploma class of 2022, who donned their cords and completed the program on April 19th, 2022. Coincidentally, Earth Day was just a few days away, and Abby’s project was featured on WBNS 10TV’s ‘Wake Up CBus’ to help raise awareness about environmental issues and climate change.
